Long-term financing of protected areas
There is a huge gap between financial time horizon of Protected Areas (generally a year) and environmental time horizon (at least 20 years). In order to fill this gap, Green Eco-Land has built tools to elaborating long-term financial strategies for networks of Protected Areas based on the development of innovative mechanisms and partnerships.
Such service generally includes an analysis of available funds and resource gaps in order to implement the PA management plan, as well as the identification of additional funds that could be raised. This assessment can take the form of a detailed Business Plan that will offer useful long-term indicators to PA managers.
Identifying new sources of funds to adequately and sustainably implement PA management plans is key to improve biodiversity conservation and Green Eco-Land has gained extensive experience in this area in Africa and South America.
